Leaving for an adventure... part one.

Saying goodby is difficult. Saying good by to everything you know, your support, security, family, friends, is almost unbearable…

Over the past few weeks we have been in upstate New York training, learning, and building new skills, new relationships, etc. The training was hard work, breakfast at 7am, training all day, dinner at 6:00pm everyday, with only one day off, and of course we took that day to tour Niagara falls (video on youtube.com/timsalz coming soon). The day we left for this training was our last day in our home, we literally finished packing our home, and left for the airport that same day. Of course in theory that was a good idea, but if you have moved, you know that nothing ever goes wrong, ever.

Well that was not the case for us, we were waiting on our colleges to produce proper paperwork (I had ordered mine at the end of March, and Pam mid April), they both showed up the day before, and I had to take them to get “authenticated” by the Chinese government before we left, so I was gone all moving day at the Chinese Consulate, while Pam was at home giving away our last remaining possessions, and getting the house in-order to give the keys to the new owners. I was late getting home, but our neighbors were there to save the day, they literally stoped what they were doing, and took 5 hours of their day to help us finalize the final packing, and clearing our home out. With tears in our eyes, every bit of stress you can feel, I received an email that our flight was 2 hours late, and delayed… wait what, that is exactly how much more time we needed to finalize getting everything moved. There we were, Pam, Ella, Liv, Calvin, and myself, holding each other at 5:45pm, streams of tears, pains in our chests, all walking room to room, saying good by… “good by bedroom, thank you for all the great memories, good by living room, thanks for letting us build forts, and have fun parties, good by kitchen, thank you for helping us make great food for our family and friends, good by pool… “ we took the time to say good by, and I am really glad we did. We were… i mean we are blessed, and we had built great memories, and they needed to be solidified.

There is a lot more to say about this, what we have learned, what we are learning, how our lives are being drastically changed, but for now…

miss and love you all.
